1925
Company founded as "Enamel, Corporate, Advertising, Machine and Street Name Sign Factory"
1934
DAMBACH begins large scale manufacturing and invents Reflective Coating for traffic signs.
1945
Following the complete destruction of the factory during WWII, rebuilding begins in Gaggenau.
1953
Foundation of the family owned "Adolf-Dambach-Werke GmbH".
Production of reflective Scotchlite traffic signs, warning signs and barriers begins.
1957
Production of Light Signaling Systems and Illuminated Traffic Signs.
1969
Constant growth causes factory relocation to the new commercial area in Bad Rotenfels, giving rise to Europe’s largest and most modern traffic technology production facility.
1970
DAMBACH delivers the first Variable Message Signs in Europe (Mönchhof freeway interchange)
1973
Change of company name into "DAMBACH-Werke GmbH".
1974
Foundation of "DAMBACH-Lagersysteme GmbH & Co. KG", building Automatic Storage Systems and Rerieval Machines for the industry.
1975
Foundation of "DAMBACH Print + Service GmbH", a leading European printing plant offering screen, offset and digital print technology.
1976
Development and production of the first fiber optics based Variable Message Sign (VMS).
1980
Delivery of the first Mobile Traffic Jam Warning System (A5 expressway between Bruchsal and Karlsruhe).
1981
First delivery of a microprocessor controlled light signaling system.
1982
DAMBACH Lagersysteme supplies the first curve-going Storage and Retrieval unit (35 m in height).
1984
DAMBACH establishs an R&D center focussing on Traffic Management Systems.
Installation of the first Traffic Controller in Heide.
1985
DAMBACH introduces ALKANT, a traffic signage system featuring reinforced edges.
1989
Foundation of DAMBACH UK in Richmond, England.
Delivery of the complete A5 expressway traffic control system between Frankfurt and the Bad Homburg junction.
1992
Introduction of the VARIO VMS product line.
Delivery of the Krefeld Traffic Controller, capable of managing 400 Light Signaling Systems.
1993
Delivery of Europe’s largest traffic information system in Cologne: Motorists are informed about the current traffic situation on a 6,000 light pixel display.
1995
Delivery of the first DAMBACH LIFE Super Slimline tunnel VMS series.
1997
Foundation of DAMBACH Inc. in Massachusetts, USA.
1998
DAMBACH Lagersysteme founds its own sales and distribution arm for storage and retrieval machines.
2000
Installation of the Hamburg Main Control Unit, capable of managing 1,400 Light Signaling Systems.
Delivery of the EXPO 2000 Traffic Management System ("Messeschnellweg Hanover").
2001
DAMBACH supplies Full Matrix LED VMS systems to Las Vegas.
Phoenix Airport is equipped with a DAMBACH Parking Guidance System.
2003
DAMBACH presents the modular M 2100 Light Signal Controller, aiming at easy and economic crosswalk control.
2004
DAMBACH delivers all hard and software for the Greater Nuremberg Traffic Guidance System, covering 70 km on 4 highways and 6 highway junctions, 33 km of inner city streets, and an agglomeration of 2.2 million inhabitants.
The system manages about 560,000 cars crossing the Nuremberg city limits every day. Three venues -- somtimes being visited by thousands of people in parallel -- add up to this traffic volume: soccer stadium, ice hockey/concert arena, Nuremberg trade fair
80 highway and 49 city area Dynamic Message Signs in LED and Prism technology communicate with motorists.
2006
Through a Management-Buy-Out DAMBACH Lagersysteme has become independent.
